Visalia prepares for Candy Cane Lane Parade

VISALIA, Calif.

The Candy Cane Lane Parade kicks off the Christmas season in the South Valley. It's a tradition that many look forward to year after year.

The parade features real hand-made floats from across the area. Aloah and Charles Spencer helps Girls Scouts with a float every year, and they've won awards for their entries in the parade.

This year's entry is keeping with the parade's theme "A Fairy Tale Christmas." There is a magical carousel with the Big Bad Wolf, Three Little Pigs, and Little Red Riding Hood. Girls with piggy noses will be there.

Visalia's Candy Cane Lane Parade will celebrate its 67th year bringing holiday spirit to the Streets of Downtown Visalia.

The Parade will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 7pm. The 1 1/2 mile route proceeds west on Main Street from Santa Fe to Conyer, where is turns south to unload passengers at Conyer and Mineral King parking lot.

Spectators begin lining the sidewalks early in the morning with chairs and blankets ensuring the little ones in the groups have the best place to watch for Santa Claus.
