Injured Valley veteran receives new transportation

FRESNO, Calif.

Curtis Johnson spent two years in Iraq.

While there, he severely injured his right ankle, both knees and his lower back.

Johnson has been confined to a wheelchair-but on Monday the CEO of Segs 4 Vets presented him with a Segway that will allow him to interact with his four young daughters.

"It's kind of hard to tell them no whenever they want to go out and play or go walk around the block or go trick or treating on Halloween or anything like that. I never got to do any of that with any of my daughters just because it was too much. I couldn't keep up with them," Johnson said.

Over the last two years, Disabled American Veterans Charities has donated funds for three Central Valley veterans to receive Segways.
