A new report from Supermarket News shows food recalls have gone up 300-percent since 2008. The recalls are impacting retailers in disparate ways.
Some retail are adopting rules to help lower the risk of defective products reaching their shelves. As a result, ag officials have launched initiatives designed to remove defective products from the supply chain. The goal is to allow retailers and suppliers to recall just the problematic cases, rather than every single item from a farm or retailer.
