Farm bill stalls as lawmakers focus on fiscal cliff

FRESNO, Calif.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he's concerned congress may not pass the bill by the end of this congress in January. Vilsack says if congress fails to act many farmers would lose the funding they have depended on to recover from this years drought in the Midwest.

Consumers may also be forced to pay more for milk and other products because of subsidies in the bill that were allowed to expire.
