Enjoy fishing and hiking at Fresno's Ball Ranch

FRESNO, Calif.

It's located on Friant road along the San Joaquin River.

The ranch was once a favorite fishing spot, but in the mid 80's it was closed to the public because of plans for hundreds of homes and a golf course. That's when the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust started working to protect the property.

Now, it's once again open for fishing, hiking, and simply enjoying nature.

Lead Host Brice Brittsan said, "A lot of people didn't even know places like this are around. More exposure to have really cool places like this just outside of Fresno."

One reason the ranch is opening now is to provide a place for fishing that won't disturb salmon as they swim upstream.

Visitors are welcome on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entry fee is $6 per vehicle.
