FPD bust finds drugs, weapons, knives and more

FRESNO, Calif.

The bust happened on Thomas and Glenn Avenues near the Ted C. Wills Community Center in central Fresno.

The list of illegal items found in the home is extensive. Police say the man who was arrested left the home, but was found a short time later with a loaded gun.

Eight guns in total, Including rifles, shotguns and hand guns were confiscated today from the home. Police say 6 of the 8 were loaded. Officers also found hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

There were also at least half dozen large knives taken from the home and officers say they found methamphetamine -- crystal meth -- and marijuana.

Police say the Felony Assault Unit learned of the operation recently. They watched the home, and today served a search warrant. A 15-year-old was also found in the home.

Police say the boy had access to the weapons but it's unclear if he's involved in the gang activity.

Lt. Mark Salazar of the Fresno Police Department said, "So once we had enough recourses we went to the place, surrounded it and call everyone out peacefully. We know that violent crime is related to bulldog activity. So things like this, getting guns off the street is essential."

We're also told there were several tactical vests found, and other equipment that may have been stolen from law enforcement. Next investigators will test the weapons to see if they match any unsolved shootings.

Detectives say one documented gang member is in jail tonight following the bust. And more arrests could be made soon.
