Meat prices could fall if weather cooperates

FRESNO, Calif.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says if the Midwest gets enough rain this spring, it could be a record year for corn -- and a bigger corn crop means lower prices at the store.

But even if rain comes and corn prices decline, it could still take awhile for meat and dairy product costs to see a drop. Experts say chicken prices should fall first, around Christmas, followed by pork and beef prices.
