Kids Day: $300K has been counted so far

FRESNO, Calif.

People across the Valley opened their wallets and hearts to donate to Children's Hospital Central California.

George the giraffe used some of his best moves to get people to stop by the Cedar and Nees location in the dark of the early morning hours.

In total, $5,000 people from the North to the South Valley hit the streets to raise money for the hospital.

This year's goal is $480 thousand. Every donation will go back to Children's Hospital and help fund pediatric specialists.

At last check, $300 thousand has been counted so far. And officials have only counted half of the donation sites. The text donation number also has not yet been factored in.

If you didn't make it out to any of the Kids Day collection sites, donating is as simple as sending out a text message.

Text "GEORGE" to 90999 to make a $5 donation
