100 women vets were invited to the daylong event which included food, information about health eligibility and access to local service providers who cater to women.
It was a great opportunity to recognize the many female veterans that now represent 15 percent of today's active duty military, and 18 percent of the National Guard and Reserve.
It was hosted by the VA Central California health care system.
Regina Godbout of VA Central California health care system said, "Just really providing a venue for vets available to them."
Today the number of women using VA health care has more than doubled nationwide from 164,000 in 2000 to more than 354,000 last year.
