Bee colony collapse disorder on the rise

FRESNO, Calif.

Colony collapse happens with a sudden loss of a colony's worker bee population. According to the New York Times, scientists have zeroed in on relatively new pesticide. A group of environmentalists filed a suit against the environmental protection agency for approving the use of the pesticide.

Meanwhile, the E.P.A. sent experts to the San Joaquin Valley to investigate. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is expected to issue its assessment later this spring.
