The Tulare County Sheriff's Department says the March theft happened when a big rig driver came to pick up a load for delivery but then left without filling out paperwork. The bogus driver then took some of the pistachios to a farmer's market in Los Angeles. Deputies were able to recover six of the 20 stolen pallets.

Sgt. Chris Douglass said, "Some of it already had been dispersed and that's what we're working on right now to see maybe where it had been dispersed and where we can go from there and if those people were working together on it or not."

Sheriff's deputies say they're continuing to work with authorities in Los Angeles to recover the remaining stolen pistachios.
