Authorities unearthed the corpse from the backyard of a Southeast Fresno home Tuesday afternoon.

The discovery was made behind a home near Dearing and Fillmore, after Fresno police served a search warrant there.

Detectives believe the body could be connected to a missing person's case in 2009, but because the body was so badly decomposed - the coroner's office says additional testing is needed to confirm the identity.

Meantime, friends and family of missing /*Steven Humphrey*/, 15, are convinced the body is his.

"We knew exactly where he was buried, I mean everyone in the neighborhood knew," said /*Emily Essman*/. "No one is shocked."

The coroner's office says it's going to take DNA and dental records to get a positive ID on the victim. The additional tests, could take several days.
