The Madera County Sheriff's Office is investigating the murder of a teenager. Deputies say an 18-year-old was shot to death at a party just after midnight Sunday.

It happened on Avenue 18 1/2 and Road 21, about two miles west of the pilot truck stop. One woman who lives in the area and does not want to be identified says her dogs started barking frantically around the time of the shooting.

Then she heard the sirens from several patrol cars and spotted two helicopters flying overhead.

This is the fifth homicide in Madera County this year, and the sheriff says all of the murders have been drug-related.
