Warm weather is pushing California pears to an early start

Growers and shippers say the warm weather, especially in April, have pushed the California pear crop ahead of last year by a week to ten days. Growers say that's a good thing since it creates additional retail opportunities for them.

They also say it benefits stores, since they get to promote having fresh California pears in stock.
