Officer involved shooting in Visalia


The shooting involved Tulare County Sheriff's deputies. The shooting started after an armed robbery in the City of Tulare. <\p>

Authorities were on look out for a red Jeep belonging to the suspect involved in the armed robbery. A Sheriff's Deputy in Tulare County saw the vehicle and attempted to pull it over. After a short chase the Jeep wound up crashing into a power pole and then into an apartment building. <\p>

Right after the crash a shooting occurred between the officers and the suspect. The suspect was injured and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. No officers were injured and no other injuries were reported. <\p>

The Visalia Police Department says the man was a bank robbery suspect out of the City of Tulare. The man is suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo Bank this afternoon. <\p>

Police will investigate whether or not this suspect is responsible for a string of six other bank robberies in Visalia and Tulare in recent months. <\p>
