Fresno State Farm Festival

July 11, 2013 12:00:00 AM PDT
Fresno State is known for its local fruits, vegetables, wine and more. This weekend, the community can sample the work of students and learn about what goes into growing products such as that sweet corn.

This is a great event where the focus is food and of course, it goes back to the students.

This year, there is a "Dog Bowl Ice Cream Eating Contest." it starts at 11 a.m., and will pit 12 teams of up to four competitors in a battle to see who can eat 12 scoops of Fresno State ice cream - two pounds - first. The winning team receives a commemorative trophy and each team member gets a prize package of product and free ice cream coupons for a later date. Ice cream lovers interested in entering a team may sign up in the store before July 12.
