Valley lawmakers call for High Speed Rail investigation

FRESNO, Calif.

Assemblyman Jim Patterson and Frank Bigelow claim the authority is not following standards when it comes to acquiring land for the project. But, the High Speed Rail Authority says it welcomes an audit and says it's following all the rules.

The rail authority has been approved to acquire or seize 356 pieces of property for the first 30 miles of the project between Madera and Fresno. The bulk of construction on the first phase is expected to take place next year.
