The first day of the fall semester starts on Thursday, but some students are already living in their home away from home in the dorms.

It's an exciting time at Fresno State as the university starts the year off with a new president, Dr. Joseph Castro, and a full house when it comes to the number of students staying in the dorms.

With 1,100 students living on campus this year, the dorms are at full capacity -- 700 of them are freshman. University officials also say freshman enrollment has set a new record -- at 3,339.
