Immigration reform march through Fresno aims for progress

FRESNO, Calif.

The group walked eight miles to Saint Anthony's of Padua for an event with Bishop Ochoa. They hope the 21 day march across much of the state will encourage members of congress to support a pathway to citizenship.

Many of those who participated in Saturday's event say the public looks at undocumented immigrants unfairly.

"We are not criminals, we are not drug smugglers, we are people of faith who could not fulfill our dreams in our own country and we had to run away and come to this country that we know, that I know is the home of the brave the country where opportunities are given despite our color, our religion," Estefany Mendez from San Francisco said.

The group continued a portion of their 300 mile trek in Selma Sunday.
