Visalia retrofitting to help save money

FRESNO, Calif.

The Anthony Community Center on North Jacob Street is one of nineteen buildings getting new outside lights. Inside all offices will get sensors so lights will turn off once someone leaves the room. The $475,000 project is expected to save the city $90,000 dollars a year.

"So we're really excited about the opportunity to partner with energy efficiency with renewable energy in order to save money and city operations," Betsy Garcia with the City of Visalia said.

The city will also add solar panels to make the community center even more energy efficient.
