Cash taken in Fresno home invasion robbery

FRESNO, Calif.

Police say the suspect broke into an apartment on Inyo near Maple around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night. They said two women in their 70's were in the house.

The women told authorities the suspect had his face covered, spoke a foreign language, and had a gun. Police said the suspect demanded money and ended up taking a pouch with a large sum of cash from one of the victims.

"Sometimes they might know what's in the house. So we don't know if this suspect knew the victims or knew they were carrying a large sum of money but we're looking into that," said Jose Garza, Fresno Police.

The suspect ran away from the scene. Police are asking anyone who may have seen something to contact them.
