The park held its first annual artist and Childrens' Authors Festival. Ten authors brought copies of their work and read to children, including Doug Hansen.
Illustrations from his book, "Mother Goose In California" are on display at storyland. Organizers also unveiled several new murals painted by local artists.
"There's a lot of artists, local artists and local children's authors in our town that no one really knows about and so it was put together for that reason," Director of Marketing and Events at Storyland and Playland, Brenda Critzer said.
Saturday's event also featured several vendors with hand crafted art, as well as a talent and dance show.
