California fig harvest comes to an end

Farmers in California say the fig season is coming to an early end.

One farmer in Merced said the season was the quickest she has experienced in more than 20 years.

Experts say the warm spring weather caused figs to mature faster this time around. Almost all U.S. grown figs come from California. Nearly half of those come from Madera, Merced, and Fresno counties.
