The City of Fresno has agreed to pay $1.35 million for the wrongful death of a man killed two years ago.

Investigators say Matthew White was driving southbound on Brawley near San Jose when he collided with a police car. The officer was on his way to a call and is believed to have been traveling between 40 and 50 miles per hour.

The victim's mother, Pamela Mathews, accused the city of negligence in March of 2012. The city has now settled with her -- agreeing to pay $1.35 million.
