Farmers and ranchers in California say they want congress to resolve two key issues before the end of the year.

Now that the government shutdown is over, farmers say they need lawmakers to finish work on an immigration-reform bill. They say the legislation should include an improved agricultural immigration program.

Farmers also want congress to re-write the federal farm policy to replace a farm bill that expired at the end of September.
