Deputies search for missing 31-year-old Fresno man

FRESNO, Calif.

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies have been looking 31-year-old Ryan Rodriguez since Friday afternoon, when he was reported missing. He was last seen driving his white work truck in the area of Ford and Butte near Huron.

Deputies are looking at Ryan Rodriguez disappearance as a missing person's case. But they have not ruled out foul play and say it's suspicious. Deputies found broken sunglasses and a cellphone near Ryan Rodriguez's truck.

Ryan Rodriguez's family and friends huddled around an open fire in a field near Huron. The family found warmth from the dropping temperatures and comforted each other from the grief caused by the disappearance of their loved one.

"Everybody loves Ryan. Anyone who's ever met him just falls in love with him. He's a great guy, he's a great brother and we just want him home," Ryan's sister Rina Rodriguez said.

Rina Rodriguez said the family is doing their best to stay positive. She says Ryan works for Tierra Ag Spraying, a family business out of Firebaugh.

"He does a little bit of everything, drives the trucks, goes and checks the fields and everything for the business," Rina Rodriguez said.

He was spraying a farm in Huron Friday with a co-worker. He went to fill-up a water tank truck alone before noon. His co-worker later found the truck but no sign of Ryan Rodriguez.

"There was no indication that anyone else had been around the truck, other than him. There was no sign of a struggle, no blood or evidence of that type," Sgt. Kent Jones with the Fresno Sheriff's office said.

Fresno County deputies committed helicopters, search dogs and thermal imaging equipment to aid in the search. Family members also joined in, combing the area on four wheelers, but still no luck.

"It's no secret to anyone out here - to the family, to law enforcement it is strange. We're going to try to get to the bottom of this as fast as we can," Sgt. Jones said.

Those who knew Ryan say he didn't have any enemies. They he pursued a career in the postal service before returning home three years ago to work in the family business and he wouldn't have just taken off.

"We don't know how this happened, why it happened, we have no answers we just don't know," Rina Rodriguez said.

Ryan Rodriguez was last seen wearing white coveralls, blue jeans and brown boots. He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
