FEMA agreed to provide disaster relief to help with recovery from the fire that burned in Mariposa and Tuolomne Counties over the summer.
The fire began on August 17 and was not completely contained until October 24. According to the governor's office, the fire caused more than $54 million in damage.
Initially FEMA denied the aid request from the governor's office. But Governor Brown sent a letter to President Obama earlier this month once again asking for a major disaster declaration.
