4.1 earthquake shakes the Central Valley

FRESNO, Calif.

The United States Geological Survey says a 4.1 magnitude quake hit around 11:50 p.m. The epicenter was about 20 miles southeast of Avenal, but the quake was strong enough to be felt across the South Valley, Fresno, and even parts of the North Valley.

Those who felt it describe it as "one big jolt."

"Usually with earthquakes you feel one big tremor and a couple of small after shocks. I didn't feel anything.. It was just quick and dirty," said Jason Senner, Lemoore.

There are no reports of any injuries or damages.
