The flames broke out just after 6pm, at a small complex on Boyd near Kings Canyon. More than 20 firefighters arrived within minutes and contained the blaze to the attic.
No one was injured, but four adults and four children are displaced. The Red Cross is helping them find other places to stay Saturday night.
