Michael Bay's teleprompter flap at Consumer Electronics Show

LAS VEGAS

Bay was the featured speaker at a Samsung press event at the Las Vegas tech show on Monday. A few minutes into his presentation, there was a glitch on the teleprompter and it stopped working properly.

A clearly flustered Bay tried to answer the moderator's questions, but just stumbled over his words.

He announced to the audience what the problem was, saying he wasn't able to "wing it."

"Excuse me, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Bay said as he walked off stage.

"OK, ladies and gentlemen, let's thank Michael Bay for joining us," the moderator said, trying to make a quick recovery from the incident.

Bay later posted on his website about his awkward moment, admitting that doing live shows is not exactly his forte.

"Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES - I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down - then I walked off. I guess live shows aren't my thing."
