Loved ones held a car wash at Cedar and Holland Avenues Saturday and are planning another one in the same location Sunday. The fundraiser is for 3-year-old Zion Nelson.
Investigators say they found the lifeless little boy wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of his father's car at Palm and Garland on January 2.
Donald Nelson and his live in girlfriend, Moneesha Camp, are now facing murder, assault, and witness intimidation charges. The toddler's mother says she's grateful for the support she's received from friends and even strangers.
"It makes me feel really good to know the community is trying to help and reach out to me and and supporting me, it feels really good," Zion's mother Tiara Larson said.
Sunday's car wash runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and it will take place in the same location, near Cedar and Holland.
