Buchanan High Holds 14th Annual Matt Mueller Blood Drive

FRESNO, Calif.

The Matt Mueller Memorial Blood Drive has been recognized nationally as one of the largest blood drives in the Central Valley, and even received a Platinum Blood Drive Award given by the American Blood Centers. The award honors BHS for its outstanding blood drive and community efforts.

"Our focus is to encourage students, staff and our community members to learn the benefits of saving lives and how easy the process can be when informed and educated," said Buchanan Activities Director Marci Beddall.

This year's blood drive will take place 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Jan. 23 in the Multi-Purpose Room at Buchanan, 1560 N. Minnewawa in Clovis. Every donor will receive a special t-shirt, discount coupons and a free BBQ dinner. A supervised children's area will be provided free of charge.

BHS Leadership students have set a goal of 1,000 donors this year.

Questions can be directed to Buchanan High Activities Director Marci Beddall at 327-3264. At the blood drive, Ms. Beddall will be available to answer questions and set up interviews with Leadership students and students who volunteered to donate blood at the event. Please check in at the front office upon your arrival to the campus.
