Officers say the victim was in the CVS parking lot on Van Ness near Tuolumne when police showed up. Investigators say a 23-year-old had several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Officers said the shooter was last seen driving eastbound on Tuolumne. He has not been identified. So far, the victim has not been able to talk with police since he was rushed into the operating room.
His condition is critical, but he is expected to survive. Investigators say the violence may be gang related.
