Valley trailblazers honored at Black History Month celebration

FRESNO, Calif.

The African American Historical and Cultural Museum of the San Joaquin Valley marked the occasion by honoring Valley trailblazers at the Golden Palace Banquet Hall.

Sixteen individuals were recognized for their efforts to pave the way for citizens of the San Joaquin Valley including attorney and pastor, James Parks.

Angie Barfield received the passing the torch award, and jazz musician Jeanette Harris accepted the Shining Star Award.
