2 girls hit by speeding car in Livingston

Two girls are recovering from injuries after being hit by a car in Livingston.

It happened on Main Street near J Friday night. Police say 49-year-old Conrad Avila was driving too fast when he hit the two victims.

Officers found the girls lying on the ground and sidewalk. One of them was flown to a hospital with head injuries, and is now being monitored in the intensive care unit. The other was taken by ambulance with wounds to her face and leg and has since been released.

The driver is facing charges for speeding and not yielding the right of way to a pedestrian.
