Clovis students make Valentine's Day cards for Valley veterans

FRESNO, Calif.

Students from Garfield Elementary School made more than 700 Valentine's Day cards to be delivered to the VA medical center and the Fresno Veterans Home this week. This was the first time the school made the veterans valentine's cards, and students say they felt proud to give back.

"We decided to send them just to thank them for what they've done for us and to tell them happy Valentine's Day," 6th grader Jaida McKenzie said,

"It felt good that we were thanking the veterans. They fought for our country and to protect us," 6th grader Keneall Milton said.

Assemblyman Jim Patterson came to the school to pick the cards up and thanked the students for thinking of those who served on Valentine's Day.
