Hearst stopped for the officer at Fruit and Shaw but as the officer approached on foot, Hearst sped away and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated for public safety.
Shortly thereafter, the Fresno Police Department helicopter located the Camaro abandoned in a driveway on Maroa just north of Dakota.
Officers tracked Hearst to his home and arrested him on the felony warrant and for felony evading a peace officer.
Hearst, a Bulldog gang member, was additionally charged with DUI because he was under the influence of a controlled substance. Hearst's Camaro was impounded, and he was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
