After stopping in Washington, D.C., to meet with President Barack Obama, Netanyahu is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.
He plans to meet with local Jewish leaders before attending the evening screening of a television documentary in which he is featured.
On Wednesday, Netanyahu travels north to Silicon Valley, where he will meet with Gov. Jerry Brown and then visit Apple Inc., before returning to Los Angeles.
He leaves Thursday.
The California trip should offer Netanyahu a break from the weighty discussions in Washington, where Obama challenged the Israeli leader to make "tough decisions" to salvage an elusive Middle East peace plan with Palestinians.
