The Fresno County Sheriff's Office received a call about the incident at Manning and Grantland avenues around 11:15 a.m. When a sheriff's deputy arrived, the 36-year-old man was unresponsive. The deputy then performed CPR to revive him.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Community Regional Medical Center, where doctors determined he had injuries consistent with a lightning strike. Authorities say an entry wound was discovered near the man's left armpit and exit wounds on his feet. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The man had gone to the area to seek employment at an oil derrick, according to the sheriff's office.
