Prom season is just months away. But Valarie Xiong has been working on her "Every Simple Dream Prom Project" since last year. Xiong selects two deserving girls to get a head to toe makeover -- providing everything from the hairstyle, custom-made dress, jewelry, makeup, nails and shoes. She even covers the cost of the dance ticket.
Xiong, a single mom, explained her motivation, "Just watching these girls transform really inspires me to make them happy. If I'm able to make one little small dream come true it means a lot to me."
Xiong's friends and co-workers at Kaiser Permanente in Fresno donated money, dresses and accessories as well. She says even the girls who aren't selected for the full makeover, will receive help. The deadline to apply to the Prom Project is this Friday, March 21st. Donations are also accepted.
