An employee with the Bureau of Land Management found the woman's body on March 21 off of Sixth Avenue and Virginia Avenue. It was in a field near a canal.
The victim has been identified as Noaris Maldonado, 24, of Los Angeles. She also went by the name Doris.
Kings County Sheriff's detectives are working with authorities in Los Angeles to locate a person of interest. They say that person was in a previous relationship with the victim.
