Yosemite National Park rockfall forces hiking trail closure

A hiking trail in Yosemite National Park is closed after 16,000 tons of rock fell on top of it.

The rocks fell 500 feet from a cliff near Hetch Hetchy Reservoir on March 31. Rangers say the rock broke into several boulders, crushing trees and sending dust into the air.

A section of the Rancheria Falls Trail was destroyed, and park staff says it will remain closed for now.
