The band performed this past weekend at the Heritage Music Festival in Seattle, Washington. Early Tuesday morning, the 70 band members came back with several awards including a gold medal in the "Concert Band" category.
"The kids worked really hard, got a lot of support from the community, outstanding job it's all about the kids and hard work pays off." said Leonard Ingrande, Central High Concert Band Director.
Since the band won the gold medal, the students were invited to play at other festivals in Chicago, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles.
