Girl's legal guardian arrested in Kings County child abuse probe

KINGS COUNTY, Calif.

Kings County Sheriff's deputies arrested Rosa Ramirez-Najar after an investigation that started on Friday afternoon. Paramedics went to a home on Kansas Avenue, south of Hanford, after getting a 911 call about an unresponsive toddler who was injured during a fall.

Detectives later determined the little girl was abused. The 2-year-old is now in intensive care, and she is not expected to recover.

Ramirez-Najar is being held on $1.5 million bail.
