Fresno County home invasion leaves 2 elderly residents injured

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department said five suspects forcibly entered an elderly couple's home, on Kings Canyon near Thompson, demanding drugs. They said all five suspects were armed with hand guns and were wearing black ski masks and black clothing with "DEA" logos.

The Sheriff's Office said the five suspects remained in the home for two hours while searching for drugs. They said during the search, the couple in their 60's were assaulted by the suspects.

Authorities said, after the suspects found out there were no drugs at the home, they fled the scene.

The couple was taken to the hospital following the incident. A third person in the home was not injured. The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said the victims were not involved in drug trafficking.

So far no arrests have been made. Authorities are still looking for the suspects.
