1 dead after armored truck, car collide near Lemoore

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- One man is dead after a car crashed into an armored truck in Kings County.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 41 and Jackson Avenue south of Lemoore around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The CHP says the driver of a Toyota was traveling on Jackson, ran the stop sign at Highway 41 and collided with the armored truck.

The driver in the truck was not hurt, but the passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The man in the car died at the scene.

Authorities have not identified the victim pending notification of family. The armored truck did spill some of its load, but officials cleaned that up.

The CHP says alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
