Fresno Unified offers app for parents to check student's progress

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Unified parents can see how well their child is doing in school right at their fingertips.

The district has rolled out a technology tool called Edu-Text for the second year in a row. Parents enrolled will receive a daily grade and attendance update via their cell phone. The tool will provide a live snapshot of a student's cumulative grades and attendance that day so parents can see the most their child's academic progress.

"If they're falling behind, they can have conversations with their child about what they can do to achieve success, or of the student is doing great it's a chance to give them the kudos that they deserve," Jed Chernabaeff with the district said.

Parents can find their Edu-Text parent pin from their child's progress report or class schedule or in the Atlas Parent Portal.
