The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) released their list of the most stolen cars of 2013, and Honda owners should be a little worried.

Honda's Accord and Civic vehicles topped the 1 and 2 spots on the list, respectively, with almost 100,000 vehicles stolen combined. This can be attributed to high demand for Honda vehicle parts, many of which can be reused in newer models.

Even beyond Honda owners, there are many ways which you can deter car theft. Parking in a well-lit area or in a personal garage, or using an anti-theft device will significantly reduce your chances at car theft. Additionally, keeping all doors locked and removing any valuables from the car during nighttime are common sense but still helpful ways to deter theft. It also may be worth looking into installing a GPS tracking device to follow the coordinates of your car in the event that it is stolen.
