Body found wrapped in a blanket in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police say a Downtown Bicycle officer discovered the body around 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Police said the bicycle officer come upon what appeared to be a person sleeping on the sidewalk under a blanket -- but when the officer checked, he realized the woman was dead.

Police said the woman is Hispanic and appears to be in her late 30's. She was found on F Street and Merced Street in Downtown Fresno. Homicide detectives are involved with the investigation, but police said they do not know how the woman died.
