NEW YORK -- Apple is now selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus unlocked, meaning customers can buy the phones and then choose their own wireless carrier without signing a two-year contract.

Apple's price for the contract-free iPhone 6 starts at $650 and is compatible with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.
